Phoenix Tummy Tuck Photos in Patients with Severe Diastasis: Page 1

Abdominoplasty, also known as a tummy tuck, if for those bothered by excess skin and fat, or weakened abdominal muscles. The causes of these conditions are usually age, pregnancy or obesity. Sometimes, after pregnancy, the two rectus abdominus muscles that run vertically on either side of the center of the abdomen can become severely stretched out, a condition called diastasis. Basically, the rectus muscles are separated due to the stretching of the sheath/fascia and are unable to regain their former tautness.

Even for those with severe diastasis, the problem can be fixed during a tummy tuck procedure. The excess tissue is folded and sutured and the tummy tuck can give patients a slimmer waistline and flatter abdomen.
